# IK::_IK_SET_FOCUS_ENTITY_FOR_PED

- **Hash:** `0x873C792E07A32C8B`
- **Namespace:** IK
- **Runtime name (Lua/JS):** `IkSetFocusEntityForPed`
- **Side:** client (game native)
- **Name status:** community guess (may change)
- **Documentation:** described
- **Since game build:** 1207
- **URL:** https://natives.borderlinerp.com/natives/IK/_IK_SET_FOCUS_ENTITY_FOR_PED

## Signature

```c
void _IK_SET_FOCUS_ENTITY_FOR_PED(Ped ped, Entity targetEntity);
```

## Parameters

- `ped` (`Ped`)
- `targetEntity` (`Entity`)

## Returns

`void`

## Description

Sets or clears the ped's current IK focus/target entity reference.

Notes:
- Pass 0 as targetEntity to clear/reset the current IK focus entity.
- Commonly used alongside look-at / anim-scene transitions / TASK_CLEAR_LOOK_AT.
- Scripts often set this to the player ped when the actor should focus the player, and reset it back to 0 when leaving that state.

## Usage

### Lua

```lua
IkSetFocusEntityForPed(ped, targetEntity)
-- always available, by hash
Citizen.InvokeNative(0x873C792E07A32C8B, ped, targetEntity)
```

### JavaScript

```js
IkSetFocusEntityForPed(ped, targetEntity);
// by hash
Citizen.invokeNative('0x873C792E07A32C8B', ped, targetEntity);
```

### C#

```csharp
Function.Call((Hash)0x873C792E07A32C8B, ped, targetEntity);
```

- The name is a community guess and may change. If the named call is missing in your client build, use `InvokeNative` with the hash — it always works.
